About our Marquees

Hale Events hire out Garden Marquees In Yorkshire, Lancashire & Nearby Counties. Garden Marquee sizes are typically set by 2 factors, the first factor being the garden size and the second the number of guests. Garden marquees are usually used as an annex to a house. For insurance purposes; garden marquees or party tents cannot be "fixed to a house" Instead they can be built up to any building. Typically marquees are built in 3m Sections, but we can also build irregular sized marquee bays also.

We’re a real business, not a middleman, We don’t have fancy swanky offices, but we do have a kettle a 5000 sqft warehouse full of stock for you to look at, and depending on who is in the office you’ll get a reasonably good cuppa, without any pushy sales talk!

  • Where Are You Located?

    We are located central to the country within 2 minutes drive of Junction 26 of the M62. We service the entire north of England within 2 hours of our marquee warehouse. Between the months of October & April we do supply the entire country where financially viable.

    All customers are welcome to view our warehouse by appointment.

  • Who will deliver & erect the marquee?

    All our deliveries and installations are undertaken by our own fleet of branded trucks and vans. All work is done by our own trained marquee erectors who will always be in uniform.

  • What happens if something goes wrong on the day?

    First of all dont worry!

    Things very rarely go wrong & if they do we are only a call away.

    Most faults are minor and usually a result of caterers overloading electrical supplies. We have an out of hours support number which is 1 phone number that automatically rings the mobile phones of every member of the marquee team. In addition to this we have a voicemail system that will automatically email everyone in the relationship team. Then if that still fails you have our online chatbot and facebook messenger which uses push notifications to make contact with the mobile phones of the relationship teams. If you’re still concerned then talk to us about having a member of staff on site throughout your event.

  • How Long Is The Hire of a Marquee for?

    The total hire period is usually 7 days in total including erection and dismantling days. A typical wedding marquee is built on Wednesday & Thursday, with furniture and high value items such as generators, toilets and heaters delivered on the Friday. We then look to start clearing high risk / high value equipment as soon as possible after the event. The remainder is the dismantled and cleared off site on the Monday & Tuesday.

  • Do I need any Permissions or Permits for a Marquee?

    You only need permission of the land owner.

    Planning permission is not required for temporary structures that are up for less than 30 days.

    Its not a requirement to get an entertainment licence but if you are planning on having a paid bar or live music past 11pm then we would strongly reccommend obtaining one at least 12 weeks before the event to avoid complications on the day.

  • Can the Marquee be errected on a slope or hillside?

    Marquee’s can be built on a gentle slope or incline and still be acceptable to most guests.

    For steeper inclines we can look to work with scaffolding contractors to create an accesible level floor.

  • Do I Need Insurance?

    We don’t request the hirer takes out insurance however we would strongly reccommend you look to take out wedding insurance. These bespoke packages can often be tailored to cover any losses and are usually less than a £150 & cover all risks liabilities.

    Please note we carry £10m public & employers liability, this covers any claim arising from poor workmanship on our part. For example if the marquee was incorrectly assembled and a part fell on someone and injured them this would be covered by our policy; however if someone was to spill a drink on the dancefloor and someone was injured as a result this would not be covered by our policy; theoretically as the event organiser your should make provisions for such instances; therefore we would reccomend you add liability to wedding insurance policy.

  • What happens if the weather is really bad?

    This is the UK, the sun does occasionally shine on us.

    But in the event of bad weather the marquees can stand a galeforce 8 storm.

    In the last 15 years we’ve not had a wedding cancel due to the weather. However where possible we will allow a short term rescheduling. If the event cannot be rescheduled then the booking will still remain 100% payable. Wedding insurance will cover for circumstances such as this.

Everything about this company is brilliant. The website is polished, user friendly and incredibly functional to tailor make your event. We were able to get a pretty accurate cost representation during the decision making stage of our wedding prep using the calculator alone. After that, Chelsea was always on hand to recommend or assist in any way, shape or form, to ensure our wedding day venue set up was perfect. The entire team is the definition of professional, whilst being relaxed and responsive. Chris & Team were prompt on the day of set up and did an outstanding job setting up the marquee (again, suggesting better placement than I would have done). No job at any stage was ever a problem (and I changed my decision a few times throughout) I have half a mind that you probably had some hand in the good fortune weather we had as well!
